What happens when so-called “Republicans” let their Trump Derangement Syndrome override their love of country? They shamelessly throw in their lot with extreme Lefists like Kamala Harris. Just ask the usual suspects—Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, Denver Riggleman—and now, Barbara Comstock.
On Sunday, former 10th District Congresswoman Barbara Comstock confirmed what many of us have long suspected: She has abandoned any pretense of conservative principles by endorsing Kamala Harris on CNN . Her rationale? The same tired, debunked narrative about January 6th. Like a puppet parroting Democrat talking points, she claimed that Donald Trump is a “threat to democracy.” It’s laughable—and tragic—that she’s chosen to side with a politician who’s been the epitome of failure, whether as Biden’s border czar or as the most liberal, left-wing Senator in America. And she has chosen to side with a Democratic Party that has corrupted and weaponized the legal system against Republicans, from the Department of Justice to the New York state and local legal systems, and promises to pack the Supreme Court if elected. These are real “threats to democracy”, and Barbara Comstock has just endorsed them by endorsing Kamala Harris.
Let’s not forget: Comstock rode into office on the coattails of Congressman Frank Wolf, relying on the hard work of grassroots Republicans in the 10th District. But when faced with a real challenge in 2018, she got steamrolled by Jennifer Wexton, who trounced her with 56% of the vote. And now, she’s doubling down on failure by embracing the very policies and politicians we are fighting tooth and nail to stop.
Before redistricting shifted me to the 11th District under the disastrous Gerry Connolly, I worked tirelessly with fellow Republicans to get Comstock across the finish line. We believed she would carry the torch of conservative leadership in Northern Virginia, but instead, she turned her back on us. Her unhinged hatred of Donald Trump has clouded her judgment since 2016, and led her straight to the Left.
Barbara Comstock has made her choice. Let the Democrats welcome her with open arms, because she has nothing in common with true Republicans. The grassroots in Northern Virginia are disgusted and fed up with sellouts like her, who would rather play nice with Democrats than stand up for the America First agenda. This is no time for half-measures or weak-kneed “Republicans.” It’s time to draw the line.
Northern Virginia is at a crossroads, and the only way to counter betrayals like Comstock’s is by backing candidates who will fight for our values—unapologetically. Mike Van Meter isn’t just running in the 11th District to win a seat in Congress. He’s running to stop the extremist agenda that’s infecting our communities.
He can’t do it alone. The Democrats are well-funded and determined to take control of every level of government. This is where each of us comes in. Mike needs our support—whether it’s volunteering our time, donating $25 to his campaign, or simply spreading the word to our neighbors. Every bit of support makes a difference.
The stakes couldn’t be higher. We’re already seeing what happens when weak-kneed “Republicans” side with Democrats—our freedoms, our safety, and our future are on the line. Supporting candidates like Mike Van Meter is about more than winning an election. It’s about protecting the principles we hold dear as Americans.
