Jay Jones and Abigail Spanberger: Rage Politicians Unfit for Office

Many of us are still grappling with the assassination of Charlie Kirk less than a month ago. As if Democrat Abigail Spanberger encouraging her supporters to let their rage fuel them wasn’t bad enough, on Friday, Virginians learned that three years ago, the Democrat candidate for Attorney General, Jay Jones, fantasized about putting two bullets in the head of former House of Delegates Speaker Todd Gilbert. He went on to wish for Gilbert’s children to die in their mother’s arms because “only when people feel pain personally do they change on policy”. Referring to those same children, Jones also said that Speaker Gilbert and his wife were “breeding little fascists”. Amazingly, Jones said all this to a Republican delegate, Carrie Coyner, after Gilbert delivered a warm eulogy for a former Democratic colleague, Joseph Johnson, Jr.

To be clear: Jay Jones wished for Todd Gilbert’s children to die so Gilbert would change his political views.

It’s outrageous. It’s disgusting. It’s sociopathic.

A decent person would immediately step down in shame over such a revelation, but apparently Jones has no shame, and his words prove he’s not decent. Worse yet, Democrat leaders and organizations are lining up behind him in support, claiming he has apologized and “taken responsibility” for his words.

No, he hasn’t. A perfunctory, pro forma apology after getting caught is not taking responsibility. Taking responsibility means accepting real consequences for disgraceful behavior. Taking responsibility means withdrawing from the AG race and leaving public life to demonstrate that fantasizing about the deaths of your political opponents and their children are anathema to American democracy. Continuing to run for office as if nothing happened is the antithesis of taking responsibility.

Of course, we all know what would happen if the situation were reversed.

Democrats, unsurprisingly, have been abject hypocrites on this issue. The same gun control advocates who would gladly curtail your Second Amendment rights in the name of stopping gun violence are fine with an Attorney General wishing gun violence on his political opponents. The same Democrats who insist we do everything “for the children” have no problem with an Attorney General who wants his opponents’ children to die. It’s all for the Cause, of course.

The Democrats’ mainstream media handmaidens love to control the narrative, which regularly forces them to engage in censorship. You won’t be surprised to learn that not one of the Sunday news shows mentioned Jay Jones.

This Week (ABC): 0
Meet the Press (NBC): 0
Face the Nation (CBS): 0
State of the Union (CNN): 0

From a pulpit this past Sunday morning, the current Democrat Speaker of the House of Delegates, Don Scott, casually dismissed what Jay Jones said about former Speaker Todd Gilbert as a “distraction”. Can you believe an elected official standing in a house of worship would tell people not to get “distracted by a text message” but rather “stay focused”? (Speaker Don Scott from the Pulpit.)

And where is Abigail Spanberger? Political coward that she is, she has gone to ground, issuing a perfunctory condemnation and then hoping the mainstream media will run interference for the Democrats and kill the story. She can’t take a position on boys in girls’ bathrooms or girls’ sports and she can’t find the courage to call on Jones to withdraw from the AG race. When the issues get tough, Abby bails. Call her Abi-bail Spanberger.

The text messages Jones sent should automatically disqualify him as a candidate, and Republican leaders like President Trump, Governor Youngkin, Speaker Mike Johnson, and countless others have called on Jones to pull out of the race. The following article provides more details, including Winsome Sears’s press conference and Jason Miyares’s statement about this highly disturbing incident: (Violent Texts from Jay Jones.)

Check out and share these hard-hitting new ads about Jay Jones from the Winsome Sears & Jason Miyares campaigns: WinWithWinsome and JasonMiyaresVA

Don’t assume everyone knows what Jay Jones said. Watch the videos, read articles, and talk about it with everyone you meet.

There is no behavior too unseemly, too disgraceful, too sociopathic for the Democrats to excuse in the name of gaining power. It is up to us, the voters, to force a basic sense of morality on the Democrats. Defeating Jay Jones is not just a matter of keeping Jason Miyares, a proven crime fighter, in office. It is a matter of basic political hygiene.

Early Voting for the November General Election Has Begun!

PLUS: Volunteers Needed for Early Voting Polling Places

Early voting has opened and we are encouraging all Republicans to vote early! We need to jump on the bandwagon by voting early in person or by absentee ballot. If we don’t, Republicans are in a deep hole when November 4 rolls around.

Three Early Voting locations open in Fairfax County are now open. Check here for locations and times. And on Thursday, October 23, 13 additional sites will open. That means it will be easier than ever for you to vote early. And it means we need more volunteers to staff the early voting places.

To apply for an absentee ballot or to register to vote, click here: https://vote.elections.virginia.gov/VoterInformation.

Vote Early. Vote Republican.

* * *

EARLY VOTING VOLUNTEERS. Volunteers are needed to help staff Republican tables at our three 45-day voting locations–and, starting Thursday, October 23, 13 more early voting sites. If you’re available to pass out sample ballots and answer questions about our Republican candidates, please email Rosie Oakley at chair@11cdgop.org, and she can send you links to sign up for a volunteer shift at the Fairfax Gov’t Center, the North County Govt Center in Reston, or the Mt. Vernon Gov’t Center.

Absentee Ballot Chase Volunteers Needed

The Fairfax GOP is aggressively chasing absentee ballots this year and we need your help to ensure every last absentee ballot requested by a Republican is voted. From the comfort of your home and at your convenience, you will be calling identified Republicans who have requested and received absentee ballots but not yet returned them.

Reports from the field indicate the Virginia GOP is close to even with Democrats in early voting turnout. If this is true, this would put the GOP at an advantage come election day, as Republicans historically like to vote on Election Day. If you would like to help chase absentee ballots, please reach out to Valerie Wohlleben, the Fairfax GOP phone banking coordinator, at vwohlleben@gmail.com.
