VIRGINIA'S 11TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT REPUBLICANS

News & Updates

11th District Update – November 26th, 2024

Happy Thanksgiving! We have so much to be thankful for this year, starting with the incredible federal sweep, with the election of President Trump, winning the Senate majority, and retaining the House majority. Here in Virginia, we significantly increased the percentage of Republican votes. We can look forward to shaking off the malaise and sclerosis of the Biden years and implementing conservative policies that unleash American ingenuity, strength, and optimism.

Even closer to home, we are truly grateful for all the hard work and dedication of our volunteers in 2024. Our team surpassed itself this year and that was reflected in the impressive numbers of doors we knocked, homes we called, and polling places and community events we staffed. There is more work to do with the 2025 cycle having begun–no rest for the weary–but we are thankful to be heading into the next election year with a great team.

NEWSLETTER ANNOUNCEMENT REMINDER: If you’d like to have an announcement in the newsletter, please email Mike Ginsberg at mikeforscc@gmail.com. The 11CD Newsletter goes out on Tuesday mornings, so please try to have your announcement requests in by Monday at 12 noon.

As we gather with family and friends over the Thanksgiving holiday, we are reminded of the many blessings we enjoy as Americans. On November 5, God smiled on us by granting our nation a tremendous victory. Haven’t you noticed that people seem happier and more upbeat? We are hopeful and optimistic about the future, which is already stronger and safer with President Trump about to take the helm.

Democrats have put together a “Thanksgiving Survival Guide,” with guidelines for “coping” with MAGA friends and relatives (you can read them here). It includes some great advice that we should use on any Democrats who happen to enter our orbit by mistake.

While we look forward to celebrating Thanksgiving, a truly American holiday, please keep the victims of Hurricane Helene in your prayers, especially those in western North Carolina. They have been almost forgotten, but last week, Fox News sent a team to report on the situation (here). While Joe Biden continues to send billions of dollars to Ukraine and pledged $50 million to the rainforest in Brazil last week, families and young children are living in tents with freezing temperatures and snow in the forecast. Samaritan’s Purse, which is based in Boone, NC, has been on the ground providing resources and teams of volunteers for two months. If you would like to make a Thanksgiving donation, please do so online here

When you give thanks this week, please pray that God will place a wall of protection around President Trump, whose life was spared twice for a reason.

11th District Chair

Special Elections on January 7 Volunteers Needed!

There will be a Special Election on January 7th for the seats in the 32nd State Senate District and 26th House of Delegates District. Both are in Loudoun County. The GOP has nominated Tumay Harding in the State Senate race and Ram Venkatachalam for the Delegate race. (The State Senate seat was vacated by Suhas Subramanyam, who was elected to represent the 10th District in the House of Representatives. Kannan Srinivasan, the incumbent Democratic delegate in HD-26, stepped down to run for the SD-32 seat. He did not win the nomination–the Democrats’ nominee is J.J. Singh.)

Why is the State Senate race so important, as it’s not even in the 11th Congressional District? The State Senate stood at 21-19 in favor of the Democrats before Subramanyam’s resignation. If Republicans win the Senate seat on January 7, the Senate would be tied at 20-20. In case of a tie vote in the State Senate, Lt. Governor Winsome Sears would cast the deciding vote during the 2025 legislative session. A Republican win would be YUUUGE, as our favorite President likes to say.

We need volunteers are needed to door knock, make phone calls, and write postcards. Sam Hazen, the Trump Force 47 director for Fairfax County, was hired last week as the Campaign Manager for Tumay Harding’s campaign. If you would like to volunteer, please sign up here: https://tumayforva.com/volunteer/. There will also be 3 door knocking launches in Ashburn this Saturday and Sunday. Please sign up below if you can door knock for a few hours this weekend. (It will be a great way to work off the extra pounds we will all put on over the Thanksgiving holiday!)

Congratulations Sebastian Gorka!

President Trump has named Sebastian Gorka, a well-known voice in the national security community, as a Deputy Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Counterterrorism on the NSC. Dr. Gorka is a friend to the 11th District and Fairfax GOPs and his wife, Katie Gorka, is the chair of the Fiarfax GOP. Congratulations to Dr. Gorka!

Mike Ginsberg in the American Spectator: After Oct. 7, Progressives Destroyed the Democrats

Former 11th District Chairman Mike Ginsberg had a piece in the American Spectator yesterday: After Oct. 7, Progressives Destroyed the Democrats. In it, Mike is blunt: “You can draw a straight line from October 7, 2023 to November 5, 2024.” The events of that date “exposed every single cause progressive Democrats had preached about — from #MeToo to #BelieveAllWomen to Black Lives Matter to DEI — as a fraud perpetrated on the American public. On November 5, Americans convicted Democrats of that fraud and sentenced them to the political wilderness.”
