The 11th District Download from 11CD Chairman Rosie Oakley On Last Week’s Events in DC; Plus A Great Day for Winsome Sears and the Fairfax GOP in Falls Church

Last week, two young Israeli diplomats, Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim, were gunned down in Washington, DC outside the Capital Jewish Museum after an event hosted by the American Jewish Committee. Yaron was an Israeli Christian and talented diplomat; Sarah was a Jewish American from Kansas with a passion for peacemaking and community development. The two were dating and Yaron planned to propose to Sarah on an upcoming trip to Jerusalem. Both had incredibly bright futures as Israel diplomats; they believed deeply in building bridges between the peoples of the Middle East, and between the peoples of the Middle East and the United States. Their deaths are an irreplaceable loss and a profound tragedy. The murders, committed by a far left agitator screaming “free Palestine” and brandishing a keffiyeh, are a painful case of the worst among us taking from us the best among us. May the memories of Yaron and Sarah be for a blessing.

There is no avoiding the shocking fact that the killer went to a Jewish event at a Jewish museum in America’s capital city to kill Jews. The antisemitism that drove this murder and so much of the agitation against Israel and American supporters of Israel reveals a dangerous dagger pointed at the heart of the Republic. Antisemitism is a symptom exposing a blackness in the hearts of those that purvey it and a sickness and rot at the hearts of the societies in which it has become mainstream. From Nazi Germany to Soviet Russia to Inquisition Spain, outbreaks of antisemitism and broader obsessions with race, religion, and identity are preludes to catastrophe and societal collapse.

We can be proud to say that Trump Administration has taken decisive action against the domestic sources of antisemitism and race-, religion-, and identity-obsessed agitation, from universities in thrall to the most radical identitarian ideologies to federal bureaucracies marching to the DEI tune. It is a far cry from the excessive tolerance Democrats continue to have for the radicals in their midst in Congress, academia, and journalism. I’ll have an op-ed in the Fairfax Times later this week with more on this topic.

Mike Ginsberg
former 11th District Chairman

Thank you 11th District GOP for your support of Winsome Sears in the Falls Church Memorial Day Parade! Over 70 supporters marched with Winsome Sears in the Falls Church Memorial Day Parade on Monday. Our next Governor moved energetically from one side of the street to the other, passing out flags and candy to children and chatting with voters. There were many thumbs up, claps, and cheers for the Lieutenant Governor, which was very encouraging, considering Falls Church isn’t just blue – it’s NAVY! You can see in the pictures from the parade below that Team Winsome was a patriotic group in red, white and blue T-shirts, and everyone had a great time. Well done 11th District GOP!

Rosie Oakley
11th District Chairman
