Thank you to everyone who came out for the 11th Congressional District Committee’s first social event of 2025 last Thursday, January 9 at the Open Road Grill in Reston. Over 50 happy Republicans enjoyed chatting with old friends and meeting new like-minded patriots.
Everyone seems happier lately. Could it be because President Trump is just days away from returning to the White House? Stay tuned for our next Happy Hour, which will be held in a different part of the 11th District. Thanks to those of you who came last Thursday – it was fun being with all of you!

In less than six days, the nightmare of the Joe Biden/Kamala Harris Administration ends with the return of President Trump to the Oval Office. Hallelujah!
Many of us have spent the last four years wishing President Trump had remained in office in 2020. That said, I believe the President will be decidedly more effective over the next four years than he might have been had he stayed in the White House for two successive terms. The four years of Democratic misrule that the country experienced from January 2021 to now has changed Americans’ perspective on President Trump’s first term, made them far more open-minded toward a second term, and muted any “Resistance” that might arise.
In January 2021, Democrats held the majority in both the House of Representatives and Senate. Had President Trump been reelected in 2020, Congressional Democrats would have taken great pleasure in stonewalling the President on every issue for the first two years of his new term, and possibly all four years. Many people have remarked that as he heads into his second Administration, Donald Trump seems more confident, more determined, and more focused than he was when he first became President in 2017. He was a political novice at the time and believed he would have the support of every member of his party. He knows better now and is surrounding himself with people he can trust.
Leading up to the 2020 election, many Republicans were doing their best to distance themselves from the President. During the 2024 election season, every Republican who mattered – and we know the names of those who don’t matter – was aligned with Donald Trump. Since the election, even Democrats have shown a willingness to work with the new Administration. For the next two years, Republicans will hold a narrow majority in the House of Representatives and a solid one in the Senate. It will be interesting to see if Republicans can manage to do what Democrats have always done well – stand together and vote in unity to advance the President’s agenda.
Donald Trump was the victim of lawfare like nothing we’ve seen before, and he survived two attempts on his life, despite the best efforts of an incompetent Secret Service. The 47th President is truly like a phoenix rising from the ashes, stronger than ever. The man loves our country and is committed to reversing the devastating course we’ve been on for the last four years.
The four-year Biden interlude also exposed the Democrats as incompetent stewards of the economy, culture war aggressors, immigration law saboteurs, foreign policy arsonists, and identity politics obsessives. Joe Biden pretended he was a calming balm after the supposedly chaotic first Trump term, but, in fact, it is the reelection of President Trump that will restore normalcy and a sense that the adults are back in charge. Joe Biden and the Democrats unleashed chaos and failure in everything they touched. Everything is in worse shape than in 2020–the cost of living, Afghanistan, the border, the Middle East, elite American universities, energy policy. Nothing escaped the Democrats’ reverse Midas touch.
Americans now have a far greater appreciation for President Trump after experiencing the miserable Democratic alternative. Consequently, President Trump with a far greater opportunity to govern than when he was being harassed constantly by the “Resistance”, the unelected bureaucracy, lawfare merchants, and the Democratic machine behind it all.
As hard as it may be to accept, we should trust that the events of the past eight years, including the four-year “intermission”, were all part of God’s plan for our nation. As he begins his second term, President Donald J. Trump is exactly where he should be, poised to turn our country around and Make America Great Again! May he be successful in his quest.

Signature Petition Time: Help Winsome Sears, Jason Miyares, Pat Herrity and All Our GOP Candidates Get on the November Ballot

Help our great GOP candidates, including Winsome Sears for Governor; Jason Miyares for reelection as Attorney General; and Supervisor Pat Herrity for Lieutenant Governor.
