I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday! Thanks to President Trump’s win, we had good reason to be especially thankful this year. November 5 was exactly four weeks ago today. Have we stopped smiling yet?
Just when you thought you could breathe easily and not worry about another election for a while, there are two important Special Elections coming up in just five weeks.
When? January 7, 2025
Where? In Loudoun County
Why do we care? Currently, the State Senate stands at 21-19 and the House of Delegates is 51-49, both in favor of the Democrats. The Special Election on January 7 is for two seats – one in the House of Delegates and one in the State Senate. If we could flip those seats, we would have ties in both chambers of the General Assembly. Republicans winning both seats would make a huge difference in the upcoming 2025 legislative session.
Tumay Harding (https://tumayforva.com/) is the Republican nominee for the 32nd District State Senate seat, and Ram Venkatachalam (https://ramforva.com) is running for the House of Delegates in the 26th District.
(The SD-32 seat became vacant when Sen. Suhas Subramayan was elected to Congress from 10CD; the HD-26 seat was vacated by one of the candidates in the Democratic primary to replace Subramayan.)
Volunteers are needed to knock doors, make phone calls, and write postcards. If you can help in any of these areas, please email me at chair@11cdgop.org, so we can put you to work. Early voting starts on December 11, so there is no time to waste!
Are we thrilled that President Trump won on November 5? Absolutely! Wouldn’t it be even better if we could tie the seats in the State Senate and House of Delegates on January 7? Help kick off 2025 with two important wins!
Rosie Oakley
11th District Chair
Volunteer for Tumay Harding for State Senate! Tumay is the Republican nominee in the State Senate District 32 special election on January 7. SD-32 is in Loudoun County. If we win this seat, the state Senate will be tied at 20-20, and GOP LG Winsome Sears can break tie votes. This would make an enormous difference in the upcoming legislative session!
So we need volunteers to door knock, make phone calls, and write postcards! If you would like to volunteer, please sign up here: https://tumayforva.com/volunteer/.
Want to write postcards to voters this weekend here in 11CD? The Sully District is hosting a postcard writing event this Saturday, December 7. When? Saturday, December 7th from 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Where? Sully Govt Center, 4900 Stonecroft Boulevard, Chantilly
Early voting starts on December 11th, so we have a month to Get Out the Vote for this very important race.
We hope to see you on Saturday!
