Two news stories exploded in Fairfax County over the last week highlighting Fairfax Democrats’ abject failures on public safety. One involves the terrifying abduction of a toddler, which was thwarted only because the mother of the toddler saw the kidnapper with her child and confronted him. The second is about FCPS Superintendent Michelle Reid, who now wants a personal bodyguard. Did the School Board approve this expense under the cloak of darkness or does it even require approval? Let’s not forget that earlier this year, behind closed doors, the School Board approved new Director positions for each member at $121,000 for each of 12 positions, with an annual price tag of $1.5 million–story from the Fairfax Times here.
Last week, Fairfax County Police released surveillance video from July 18th, when Andres Caceres Jaldin abducted a 3-year-old child inside Fair Oaks Mall, who had wandered away from a play area. Just thinking about what might have happened to that innocent little girl is nauseating. Thank goodness she was rescued and is safe with her parents.
Let’s be honest. This potential tragedy is the result of a Board of Supervisors that voted to make Fairfax County a sanctuary for criminals; Sheriff Stacy Kinkaid, who will not honor ICE detainers; AND most importantly, Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano, who brags about Fairfax County’s low crime rate, which is only because he refuses to prosecute the perpetrators. Jaldin was involved in over 30 criminal cases prior to the abduction, including assault and battery of a family member and malicious wounding. However, court records show Descano declined to prosecute Jaldin!
What do the Board of Supervisors, Kinkaid and Descano have in common? All but one – Supervisor Pat Herrity – are Democrats, and they are clearly much more interested in supporting criminals in Fairfax County than protecting law-abiding citizens. Do more children have to be abducted; women raped; pedophiles released; or middle and high school students recruited by MS-13, before a majority of Fairfax County voters finally put the blame where it belongs: squarely on the shoulders of the Democrats in leadership across Fairfax County?

As if the criminal element in Fairfax County is not bad enough, FCPS Superintendent Michelle Reid is advertising for a bodyguard, who will be paid up to $142,000 per year by Fairfax County taxpayers. Reid currently receives a salary of over $420,000 per year, plus a $12,000 annual car allowance, which is more than the President earns. As Stephanie Lundquist-Arora asked when she broke this outrageous story last Friday, “What’s next for Reid – a cook and driver?” Read Stephanie’s excellent op-ed on WMAL.com here.
Our favorite investigative journalist, Asra Nomani, followed Stephanie with another article about Queen Reid at FoxNews.com. In it, she describes the “Executive Protection Agent,” also known as a bodyguard, who Superintendent Reid wants to hire, as “responsible for ensuring the personal safety, security and operational continuity of the division superintendent across school campuses, public events, official travel, and private residence.” It sounds like Reid wants Secret Service protection! Read Asra’s full account of this infuriating situation here.
When will voters finally say ENOUGH and boot the Democrats out of office? Democrat policies are causing one public safety crisis after another across Fairfax County, and it will require massive changes in leadership on the Board of Supervisors, School Board, along with both the Sheriff and Commonwealth’s Attorney, to ensure the safety of our county, communities, children, and families.
Let’s be blunt: Democrats care more about protecting their sanctimonious progressive reputations than protecting the public. But when the rubber meets the road, they hire bodyguards to protect themselves and have you pay for it, because they know the climate of crime they’ve created. Fairfax taxpayers should not have to live in fear so Fairfax Democrats can feel good about themselves and self-righteously preen for the cameras in the safety taxpayers pay to provide them.
If you live in the 11th Congressional District, Early Voting is now open at 2 locations: Fairfax County Gov’t Center and North County Gov’t Center in Reston. This is the perfect time to grab a friend or neighbor and cast your ballot. It’s quick and easy and with just two names on the ballot, the choice is clear – Vote Stewart Whitson!
In the debate last week, we all saw the difference between Stew’s positive, forward-looking vision for the district and more of the Democrats’ “do nothing and blame Trump” failures from colorless Democratic replacement-level apparatchik James Walkinshaw.
Here’s where and when you can vote early for Stew:

Stew’s campaign then returned to the City of Fairfax on Sunday for a fundraiser with WMAL’s Chris Plante and a room full of patriots, who shared a few laughs and heard more from the 11th District nominee.
