Friends,
With the September 9th deadline to vote fast approaching, our campaign effort is in overdrive. I cannot thank our volunteers enough for all the hard work you’ve been doing to help us take back this seat! And to all of those who have contributed to our campaign we are so very grateful. Every contribution makes a big difference!
If you’ve been watching the news at all, you know that two of the biggest issues we’re focused on – empowering parents and keeping our kids safe – have taken center stage with several scandals rocking our community. I’ve been speaking out both of these issues, and making clear that all this nonsense stops on Day One when I’m elected.
First, my opponent stood by while a convicted sex offender roamed freely in our community exposing himself to women and girls in locker rooms. My opponent’s response to this has been truly disturbing: complete and utter silence. When leaders choose politics over safety, predators slip through the cracks and the safety of our children is placed in jeopardy. Again, when I’m elected, this stops immediately.
Second, the soft-on-crime policies championed by my opponent helped create the conditions for a brazen kidnapping attempt earlier this summer, carried out in broad daylight at the Fair Oaks Mall located in our district. My wife and our three youngest kids were at the Fair Oaks Mall when police released the surveillance footage of the incident. It is a powerful video that is truly terrifying to watch because you know that could have easily been your child or grandchild. As a former Federal law enforcement officer, I will always Back the Blue and work to get violent criminals off our streets and dangerous drugs out of our communities.
As if those two scandals weren’t enough, we now have allegations surfacing of two young girls being coerced by a Fairfax County Public Schools staff member to get an abortion without their parents’ knowledge. Horrific. If the allegations are true, I’m afraid there might be more victims and additional staff involved. I’ve called for an immediate outside investigation by our Attorney General as well as DOJ/FBI, if warranted. I’ve also called for an immediate change to the FCPS policy empowering politically-biased bureaucrats over parents. It should be noted that this latest scandal comes in the midst of another nationwide scandal involving the FCPS superintendent, who is paid more than President Trump and now quietly wasting our tax dollars to fund personal bodyguards. With my opponent voting to give himself a 45% pay raise while we were short 200 cops, we’re seeing a disturbing pattern emerge under with Democrat leadership. While they enter public service to be served, I’ve entered public service to serve.
At the end of the day, elections have consequences. If we want to restore parents’ rights and keep our kids safe, we have to take back this seat in the 11th Congressional District and restore common sense. TOGETHER, we will do that on September 9th.
For those looking to help our effort, but who are unable to door knock, we have launched our phone banking effort. With enough volunteers we can reach every single voter that we need to reach, so please consider signing up. If you’re interested, please email staff@WhitsonForCongress.com.
And of course, if you’re able to support our campaign with a contribution, please do so. With the dynamics of the Special Election, this will be a low turnout race, but it will be very close. Every dollar we raise will have a big impact and could be the difference between winning and losing. Donations can be made by visiting WhitsonForCongress.com or by mailing a check to:
Early Voting remains open at 2 locations: Fairfax County Gov’t Center and North County Gov’t Center in Reston. Grab a friend or neighbor and cast your ballot. It’s quick and easy and a great way to bank votes now.
