Taxpayer Rally was a Success!

Thanks to all who joined us at the Taxpayer Rally last Tuesday afternoon at the Fairfax Government Center. We had a terrific turnout, plus news coverage from WJLA Channel 7 and Fox News Channel 5, who interviewed several rally attendees. Hundreds of Fairfax County residents signed up to speak at the 3 days of hearings to protest the proposed 7.5% increase in property tax and a meals tax that could be as high as 6%. We must continue to speak up against the Democrat-controlled Board of Supervisors and Fairfax County School Board, because Fairfax County is worth fighting for!

The Republican Ticket is Set with Sears, Reid and Miyares!

The statewide Republican ticket for 2025 is set with Winsome Sears for Governor; John Reid for Lt. Governor; and Jason Miyares for Attorney General, and at a Northern Virginia Republican Business Forum breakfast yesterday, the guest speaker, newly elected RPV Chairman Mark Peake, encouraged everyone to support our nominees. In addition to keeping the three statewide offices in Republican hands, he also emphasized the importance of the House of Delegates races and thanked the candidates for running. Fairfax County candidates present at the breakfast included Cass Aucoin, who is running in the 7th Legislative District, and Saundra Davis, who is running in the 15th.

Gerry Connolly will not run for reelection in 2026

Yesterday, Gerry Connolly announced that his cancer has returned and that, as a result, he will step down as the Ranking Member on the House Oversight Committee and will not run for reelection to Congress in 2026. (Links to coverage here and here.) As Republicans, we don’t agree with most, if not all, of his positions. This is a difficult time for Congressman Connolly, however, and we know the love and support of his family and friends will lift him up.

It’s not too soon to be thinking about running for Congress in 2026, especially now that the seat will be open. The 11CD Committee is always recruiting candidates, and if you’ve been thinking about it, now’s a great time to reach out to the committee to discuss a possible run. If you are interested, please let us know.
